Is there a monoprice for car audio? Basically, I want some cheapass 6.5" speakers for my Alfa. I don't want horrifying quality, but I don't need "good" either. Audiophiles, get your earmuffs. I just want something to provide music to my ears for those times, God help me for saying this, the V6 isn't providing enough. I'm thinking $30 might be too much to spend. FYI, my stereo is there for show. I have a craptacular 100 watt x 2 channel amp living under the back seat with a low-level input so I can plug in my iPhone. The jack and wiring is actually pretty neat, though. Can't even tell it's there, in keeping with the 1982 theme. That's the system we're dealing with.

Recs for specific brands and models appreciated.

And prefer not to go the eBay route. I managed to buy two dead head units and one amp with a burned right channel before I got the hint most of the stuff described as "worked fine last time I used it" means ready for the parts bin.

Swapmeets. You might end up with some XBlods, but they do the job.

Hmm, I've had nothing but good luck with cheap Pioneer eBay speakers.

Our Napa store carries cheap ass Audiovox speakers that aren't half bad. Non-paper cones even.

You could try Parts Express. Some of the stuff they carry (Dayton primarily) for extreme budget desktop speakers/subwoofers have been reviewed well (for the price). Not sure at all about the stuff they car for car audio, but its an option.

Go budget by all means, but don't get cheap-ass paper cone speakers. They still come on many cheap new cars today and would have come with a car from 1982 as well. It's embarrassing.
